Wanna know why Kilmanjaro is so dangerous?? It's because it is FRICK easy to climb. You can do it in like a few hours or so. So what's the big deal? Well, you can basically hike up into the upper troposphere really quick, and you don't get used to the high altitude.

So, you climb, say "woo - pretty view." Then you kick the bucket coz yer blood turns to snot.

Not a helluva lot. It's snowing. Well, it WAS snowing, all last night and now it's warm.

Went running in the snow which was pretty cool. Some lady was runnin in the other way and she said I was crazier than her, coz I was in the snowpiles and she was in the road. Hmm...you pick.

Then I drove around lookin to see who needed shovelin. However, that's the thing about this place...people sure are out and about frick early when it comes to shovelin!

I need a vacation. Somewhere warm. Just like in Spy Game. Put some $$ away - dont touch it ever. Use it to retire somewhere warm.

However, I have decided that all candidates suck, so I am going to be President of the United States someday. Maybe I won't run when I am 35....that might be too early. Apparently I should be able to do quite well if I follow up with my whole John Milton rationale. Now all I have to do is define my policies and go for it. I'll start with local school boards and congress. Since I am a professor, the school board thing should not be so hard. Then I can do the comptroller thing or whatever...ok I have to make a plan.

So sometimes I just leave a song on my computer and let it play on repeat.

Right now it is "Blood on the Walls." It is a heavy metal tune about Doom. That's right. Someone made a song...I guess it sounds a little bit like a cross between Limp Bizkit (maybe), Kid Rock and Billy Squier, minus the silky pink shorts. That's right, we'll never forget. Anyway, I used to think the song sucked but now it is pretty cool. Maybe I'll put a link to it, but come on, you should be able to surf the friggin web for it.

What else...I am gettin really psyched for the election. I know my vote doesn't count, coz I live in New York. I am thinkin more and more that Kerry is kind of a weiner. There are not many scenes in Boogie Nights that are cooler than when Dirk Diggler is singin "U got the TOUCH"....but one is when they cut to his buddy rockin out and dancing behind the glass. I have yet to watch that whole movie. I use movies as my sleep timer....but they don't turn off and I gotta be careful of the volume. I was all worried that tonite I would lose focus and not get anything done. However, that is not the case at all! I just remembered I have a DVD set of Batman Animated Series Episodes. Rock on. Plus Reno 911 is on.

Wrestling....kinda sucks these days. But the WWE Diva Search is over and my favorite one won. Hopefully she'll be ok. When she gets all famous later on I can show everyone her Trimspa commercial.

So I used to lift weights. I have not lifted a single freekin weight in about a couple of months now. And I feel friggin great. I have been looking into bodyweight exercises, which include bodyweight squats, dips and pullups. They totally rule. Take that and throw in some Tae Kwon Do and eat Cheerios and protein all day (with v8) and you can rule just like I do. Or, I might just have a skewed view of my body image and who knows...I might really look like a Japanese POW in real life.

CRAP! I forgot that my Puerto Rican colleague might actually be reading this now...so I'd better tone it down. Aw crud I am tired now. This was a crap entry...I'll think of something else.

I managed to navigate dungeon master with a mouse. However, there are two pointers...the one for your PC, and the Apple one...you'll see.

Karateka. To move left or right, you sorta move the mouse and click in the direction u wanna go. Also, you can kick by pressing F1 and punch by pressing F2. I basically beat everyone by doin a buncha low and mid kicks. I didn't figure out how to run. That's probably why I fought so many guys.

Rastan: F1 chops and F2 jumps. But the movements work like a keypad. So if you have yer 123456789 like I do, then yer screwed. So I just played and went chop chop and gave up.

This is where you can get a IIgs emulator that runs in your browser, and it kicks MAJOR BUTT. You can play a BUNCH of cool games, including Rastan (yeah!) and Karateka. There are even buttons you can push to slow things down (like on the IIe/IIc games) or make em fast for IIgs games.

I can't get the keyboard to work properly...well I can, but I have a laptop and it does not have the special keypad, so moving is a BITCH. So I will buy a joystick so I can play Rastan (yeah!).

Dungeon Master is on it too but I didn't play it. Wuuf the Bika has to stay the f*** in his mirror.

Anyway, these people have done a KICKASS job.

HOWEVER

I played Karateka for half and hour. HALF A BLOODY HOUR (waiting for my tea) and I beat up like 12 dudes. I even made it inside the building where the stupid eagle attacks u. turns out punches dont work on anyone...just kick em. ANYWAY I was doin FINE! I was gonna rescue mariko, etc etc etc. And BOOM!

So today I built a patio. That was kinda cool. Layin brick is pretty fun, and also easy. Everyone should do it. Go and buy a bunch of bricks, and make a pattern outside, wherever you want! In the frozen food aisle, in a parking lot, on top of someone's car, etc.

Someone there compared construction to other jobs. He said "what I like about being a builder, at the end of the day, you can look at your patio or wall or whatnot, and say 'I did that!'" I told him, that I can point at one of my students and say the same thing!

It's Saturday. I plan to celebrate my freedom, sloth and quasi boredom by goin to Dunkin Donuts. I can't just wait till Sunday morning. I have to go now. Ok so maybe I'll go in a few hours or something.

I spent a lot of the morning trying to download music from Thexder. It pisses me off...all that downloading stuff pisses me off. 1) All the links are broken. 2) if a link is not broken you have to pay for whatever you want. Yeah, I really want to pay 5 bucks for 12kb of data from 1987. 3) or you have to register for it. This sucks. There should be no copy protection, anywhere. Hell, it's not like we need it, like we need friction. However, I DID download some midis and mp3's from thexder (eventually, but not the original ones), silpheed (some guy had recorded them off his Apple IIgs and then taken the audio tape and made mp3's) and then some conquests of the longbow.

Yesterday I visited an Air Force base. No I won't say which one. But it was COOOOOOOOL. However, after the morning's meetings (started at 7:15!! ugh!), we ran to get a quick lunch. I was tired and hungry and did not want to have a deli sandwich made...blame my college years, I get so BORED just saying "ok, cheese, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, tomatoes, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, lettuce, uhhhhh," and watching hands grabbing meat. If I wanna see that, I'll watch Tough Enough 2. ANYWAY, so I grabbed two ready-made Jimmy Dean sandwiches...."French Toast and Sausage" and "Ham Egg and Cheese Muffin." 2 bucks each, and no tax, coz it's a base. Ooh and the coldest Diet Vanilla Coke ever. It ruled. So, I sat down and ripped thru the french toast one...mmmm!!! then I opened the Ham one. Looked...hmm...this ham is funky...looks kinda grey. But I always rememebred that elephants are grey so thas fine. So I took a bite...did not really taste anything. So the SMART BOY in me decided to go to the cashier and say "hello, I got this sandwich...is the meat supposed to be this color?" FASTER THAN YOU CAN SAY TRICHONOSIS, the cashier grabs the sandwich, says "NO!" and gives me my $$$ back. I was worried, but honestly I feel fine.

How many times have YOU walked into a place of business, near closing time (whether you knew or not) only to have a 200-300lb troll yell "Can somebody PUL-eeze Lock the doors?!"? Yes, it could be a variant of that. Happened to me twice. Once at S**ttybank and once at The Olive Garden in Dayton, Ohio. However, at the Olive Garden, the waitress was super nice so that was cool. You drink the V8 really fast and then mix up yer protein shake in another cup. So, by the time you are about to guzzle yer protein shake you are just about ready to burp V8. If yer like me, you think "what's the worst that could happen?" and you burp and drink yer protein shake right away. WELL YOUR PROTEIN SHAKE IS NOT CHOCOLATEY GOODNESS IT TASTES LIKE WHAT YOU SMELL, WHICH IS V8 BURPS.

I like my neighbors. They are all nice. I was changin some stuff on my tires yesterday (failed miserably) and pretty much everyone who drove by me in the parking lot asked if I needed help or was ok or whatever. I watched some of the Olympics this morning and what did I get to see....

1) Chinese girl vs Japanese girl in tennis. Who won? WHO CARES...I just had a good time watchin.

2) MENS-DOUBLES-PING-PONG. Hahahaha I think there is more athleticism in a Halo tournament. ok maybe not...I mean can you imagine how much training it takes not to slam yer nuts on the corner of the table every other shot?

3) Women's biking. First of all biking is really boring. Second of all, I hate bikers. Third of all, it was just a buncha butts. So the only athletes you could tell out of the bunch were the ones from the Ukraine, coz you know they got three instead of two. Other than that it's anybody's guess.

I did TKD last night. Weird. For some reason my left leg is a hell of a lot better than my right leg ever was. Really weird because I used to be a total right-leg kicker. Also, kicks off the front leg are a lot better than those off the rear leg. Weird. I gotta figure this out.

I watch Nip/Tuck. Dunno why. I support all the FX dramas...wait no I don't. I watch The Shield ("just another daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay) and a little bit of Rescue Me, and sometimes when they put on a dumbass movie like that Jamie Foxx one of the guy who writes children's books about killin people, I'll watch a bit. I missed that Vegas series, so oh well. Either way, I watch Nip/Tuck.

But they just don't seem like they are tryin in some of these episodes. Sadly, last night I was actually bored durin this one. Man, this is even turning into a boring blog. I'm puttin p******* back on the schedule. hahahahahahahahahaha

I'll finish my review of RAW. Benoit vs HHH in a 60 minute ironman match. That ruled, coz Benoit rules. HHH was ok too, as a matter of fact he did a really good job. Maybe Smackdown will clean up its act now that Angle is back...unless he starts boning corpses or something...but is he too far gone now? I mean, his role as GM was crappy, and I am starting to hear rumors that he is not bein so good backstage...hmm....that would suck. I have to find new television shows!!!

I have received NO comments on my friggin blog. It's been up for a couple of weeks, but it appears that nobody gives a crap about Little House on the Prairie, or the WWF, at least my reviews. So, what topic should I address????

I'll talk about capital punishment. Hmm, maybe people will get that. I like the idea of capital punishment, but not for adults. Adults have an entire life to make connections, and people say, if an adult grows up to become an evil adult, that is the failing of society. I agree! It's a failing because we did not EUTHANIZE his ass when he was a kid!!! Think about it!! You have a four year old, and that kid kills another kid. Yeah, it happens. Some parents are unfortunate enough to just create EVIL sons of bitches. So, whaddya do? Well, he's small...not gonna put up a fight...so cancel his ass. Nobody is gonna miss an evil 4 year old...and the parents can make another one!!! Look at these kids...there are those two tykes in England who killed that bulger baby...now they are under police protection!?!?!?! They should have just put em in a sack and dumped em in the Thames! Some kids are born wrong like that. No remorse, no morals. Why allow such a blight on society to continue? Just destroy them!! No counseling or whatever is gonna fix these lil' bastards....they will cost you and me $$$ for the rest of their miserable lives. So, Capital Punishment for Children. Whaddya think?

So I just realized that Little House on the Prairie is more different than my memories. I used to think that all the episodes were all about Laura and Nellie feudin, and sucker candies, etc etc etc. But it's not like that at all. There are maybe a couple of episodes like that, but more than half of the episodes are about "Plague" and "Quarantine" and "Mary gettin an abcess" and "Mary goin blind" and "Hail kills all the crops" and "tornado destroys chaz's farm" and all that crud. The title of the show should be "Life is a Bitch on the Prairie."

Joan Allen does nothing for me.

Benoit vs Batista - this was the reason I did not turn off RAW right at the Diva thing. Benoit always looks good...and they make Batista look better every week. However, Benoit looked kinda weak in this one. Sure they DQ'd Batista for not lettin Benoit out of the ropes, but it made the champ look like a dumbass, just dangling there, getting kicked. I don't think that's good for the Rabid Wolverine, even tho it is truly to soften him up for the Ironman next week.

Personal thoughts...I always liked HHH, coz he's got this authority. Sometimes his promos don't always hit, but then again, he gives one every week, so I guess they can't be 100% good. Hell, the Rock showed us recently that sometimes you don't do good ones.  Benoit rules. He is just that good. I dunno if he will drop the title at SummerSlam, but he is just THAT badassular. He just rules as champ. I mean, even the Rock was not this good...you were always worried he was gonna get beat up, and was only holding it coz he was cool. Benoit reminds me of Brock, but just like a million times better.

Ok so I was just walking back down MacArthur Blvd to my apartment, carryin a couple of bags of groceries, coz I'm hard like that.

Anyhoo, what do I see in front of me? About 30 feet ahead, I see a robin chasing a squirrel into the street. Weird! The robin was flyin like 6 inches off the ground and tryin to get the furry-tailed rodent, likely coz the latter was buggin' her nest. HOWEVER, as the animals approached my 2 and crossed over to my 10, also headin from my 10 was a, well, to put no finer point on it, a car.

I know now what it sounds like when a squirrel meets the rear tire of an auto. A kthunk that I likely won't forget for a while. As for the robin? Broke hard right like a f***in MIG, and then circled the area for a while as if to say "hmm, not sure if I meant for THAT to happen."

The moral of the story? Don't use yer cell phone in the airport men's room.

How come all superhero movies and shows have the heroes wearing latex costumes. You can't spring into action if it takes 45 hours to get dressed.

I spend a lot of time watching commercials these days, and it really just kinda bugs me now. Ok here's one right now. A BUNCH OF ELEPHANTS DOIN JAMAICAN RAP FOR PEANUT BUTTER. What the f***? Ok now it's a bunch of cartoon bears wipin their asses in the forest....and wht!??? Dancing around waving the paper above their heads?? Please bring back the old Transformers commercials.

Ok Harry Potter is on ABC Family right now. I might watch it because even if it is edited for TV...who cares. What are they gonna do, take out the shower scene?

I always admired really fat or ugly actors and actresses. Obviously when they are cast they are responding to an ad like "big fat person wanted" or "ugly person needed for lots of jokes at your expense." Boy howdy, no denial there!

Ok a cat just turned into Professor Maggagogglenoggle or whatever. That was cool. Looks like I just found my evening's movie, especially given the fact that Hans Gruber is in it and is gonna blow up the Nakatomi Hogwarts. "I have to go tell Hagrid that his brother is dead...."

Those are the words uttered proudly by Mr. Miyagi after he smashed the beer bottles in front of Daniel LaRusso and the drunks. It applies to this, my first blog entry. Dunno what to talk about...I have serious writer's block today. I bought a power tower today. No, that's not one of those ghetto blasting boom boxes with all the bling bling taillights on it, etc; it's a free-standing hunk of metal where I can do dips and pullups at home. Not bad...I am going to get up to 100 dips in succession, and um...30 pullups..I guess that's a good goal. Then I can join the Starship Troopers. Heh heh Roo's roughnecks. This blog is totally going to get better, once I start writing about things that bug me. I spose for now I could start with DVD and movie reviews.

I have the first 3 seasons of Little House on the Prairie and I got halfway thru the first season. I am in the ep now where Nells and Harriet Oleson start having marriage difficulties, or rather start showing them. I always wondered about those two...she was such a nasty lady...he really did not emerge as a cool character yet...but later on he ruled. In the eps before that one, Ernest Borgnine played an angel. I think he came right from the set of "Escape from New York" for that...but maybe it was like 6 years too early. Who friggin cares.

There was a really good webpage up for a while...www.leisuretown.com. Was funny as nuts. Now it's not there any more.

In addition, I can't find any good links to a band called "Voodoo babies." No, not THE Voodoo Babies, that is another band. The one I wanna see is the one with the chick lead singer. They do the theme song from those Trimspa commercials.

What else...Spiderman 2 RULED.

I guess I could even review professional wrestling! I agree with everyone that Chris Benoit is awesome. So is Chris Jericho. HHH is doin better and is more fun, but I still think he's too big and round now. The Rock sucked in his last appearance and hopefully will do better next time. On Smackdown, it seems like everyone on the internet hates this guy JBL. I used to...but then I realized, I really did not have much to hate the guy about. He's a successful, opinionated, patriotic guy who happens to play a bad guy on TV. His act sucks as a face act, but as a heel act, it's kinda good. People complain that he simply got pushed into the main event and did not deserve it, but in a way, hell he's been with the company for a while. I don't blame the main event for Smackdown sucking...I blame all the rest as well. It's just really boring.

I went to Alaska but would not really recommend it to people who like stuff.

ok, even tho the Little House eps are good...the DVD's have zero features. They dont even have subtitles, which is a pain in the butt because the volume is so low and swooshy swooshy. I can't even get the subtitles when I go thru my TV menu, and that usually works.
